Our next Salsa Party is on Friday 19th March 2010 at Abbey Sports and Leisure. Programme Caliente!
On that night, we are introducing Kizomba to Leicester! This sensual dance is often described as an African Tango. Derived directly from Zouk music, sung mostly in Portuguese, it is a genre of music with a romantic flow mixed with African rhythm. In the past year or so, Kizomba has taken London by storm, now it's Leicester's turn!
Ney Corte Real is an accomplished dancer and musician from Angola, where Kizomba originates from. he has taught alongside some of the best kizomba dancers in the UK, including Iris de Brito.
We are now teaching free introductory Kizomba classes on Wednesday nights at Midas Bar, and will start a 10 week course the week following the party.
Place:Abbey Sports and Leisure, 70 Slater Street, Leicester, LE3 5AS.
Times: Doors open at 7pm.
7.15pm : Kizomba Class for Beginners with Ney,
8.15pm: Rueda classes with Rodolfo and Michel from Cuba.
9.15pm: Party starts with DJ Yersin and Dj Sabroso at the decks.
11pm: Kizomba performance with Ney Corte Real and Magali Romano.
Price: £7 advanced, £9 at the door.
